Characterization measurements of the TRISTAN multi-pixel silicon drift detector

Abstract Sterile neutrinos are a minimal extension of the standard model particle physics. A laboratory-based approach to search for this is via tritium β-decay, where sterile neutrino would cause kink-like spectral distortion. The Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino (KATRIN) experiment extended by multi-pixel Silicon Drift Detector system has potential reach an unprecedented sensitivity keV-scale in lab-based experiment. new detector combines good spectroscopic performance with high rate capability. In work, we report about characterization charge-sharing between pixels and commissioning 47-pixel prototype MAC-E filter.
